From Vulnerability to Victory. Build Your Future.
Economic exclusion is a leading driver of poverty, inequality, and gender-based violence in Western Kenya. Limited access to education, capital, markets, and assets forces many women and girls into dependency and unsafe livelihoods.
PALAWAMA’s Women’s Economic Empowerment Program breaks this cycle by equipping women and adolescent girls with market-relevant skills, financial literacy, and start-up capital—enabling sustainable income generation and long-term independence.
Core Interventions
| Intervention | What We Deliver |
| Vocational & Technical Skills Training | Certified, market-aligned training in fashion design, cosmetology, hospitality, agribusiness (poultry and dairy), value addition, and green energy livelihoods. |
| Entrepreneurship & Business Development | Practical coaching on financial literacy, record-keeping, branding, pricing, digital marketing, and value chain integration. |
| Start-Up Incubation & Seed Capital | Start-up grants, business starter kits, equipment, and post-training mentorship to support business launch and growth. |
| Financial Inclusion & Networks | Formation of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), peer mentorship circles, and linkages to cooperatives, microfinance institutions, and banks. |
